The Great Shepherd

11.30.15 The Great Shepherd
He shall feed his flock like a shepherd; He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. Isaiah 50:11
Shepherd is a relative name; it has reference to a flock. This great and good Shepherd has a flock whom He loved from everlasting , and whom having loved , He will love to the end (John 13:1)
He humbled Himself for their sakes, submitted to partake of their nature and their sorrows, took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of sinful flesh. He died for His sheep, the just for the unjust (I Peter 3:18) , to redeem them from the curse of the law, from the guilt and dominion of sin, from the power of Satan, and to bring them to God. They, by nature, are all gone astray, every one to his own way (Isaiah 53:6) ; but having thus bought them with His blood, in His own appointed time, He seeks, finds, and restores His sheep. By the power of His Word and Spirit, He makes Himself known to their hearts, causes them to hear and understand His voice, and guides them into the fold. Then, they became His sheep in the sense of my text. They are under His immediate protection and government.
Considered as individuals, they are fitly described by the name of sheep. A sheep is a weak, defenceless, improvident creature; prone to wander, and if once astray, is seldom known to return of its own accord. A sheep has neither strength to fight with the wolf, nor speed to escape from him; nor has it the fore-sight of the ant, to provide its own sustenance. Such is our character, and our situation. Unable to take care of ourselves, prone to wander from our resting-place, exposed to enemies which we can neither withstand nor avoid, without resource in ourselves, and taught, by daily experience, the insufficiency of everything around us. Yet, if this Shepherd be our Shepherd, weak and helpless as we are, we may be of good courage. If we say with David, The LORD is my Shepherd, we may make the same inferences he did, Therefore I shall not want; therefore I need not fear.
He leads them into green and pleasant pastures. These pastures are His Word and Ordinances, by which He communicates to them of His own fulness; for, in strict propriety of speech, He Himself is their Food. They eat His Flesh and drink His blood (John 6:54)
He guides them and guards them. He heals them, It is He, likewise, who heals their bodily sickness, and gives them help in all their temporal trouble. He is represented to us, as counting their sighs (Psalm 56:8) , putting their tears into His bottle, recording their sorrows in His book of remembrance; and even, as being Himself touched with a feeling of their infirmities (Hebrews 4:15) , as the Head feels for the members of the Body.
Hebrews 13:20-21 is a favourite prayer for many church leaders. They may work very hard to look after God’s people (here called his ‘sheep’), but they cannot do everything. So it encourages those church leaders to know that Christ is looking after his people. He is like a shepherd who looks after his sheep (Luke 15:3-7; John 10:1-18).

A shepherd is someone who takes care of sheep. Ezekiel chapter 34 explains how God is like a shepherd. A good shedpherd gives special attention to any sheep that are weak or ill. He makes sure that the sheep have enough food and water. He defends them from wild animals and thieves. He leads his sheep (Psalm 23).
Christ, as the great shepherd, cares very much about his people. He understands their weaknesses (Hebrews 4:15). He warns them when they do wrong things (Hebrews 12:5-6). And that brings them comfort as he leads them (Psalm 23:4). They must pass through some difficult places, but he has gone there ahead of them (Hebrews 2:14-15). He suffered death in order to overcome the power of death.

If any of you are parents you kind of know what it means to be the shepherd because you want to make sure your children are fed, clothed and well. Lord I come to You thanking You for being my Shepherd. You are always there for me no matter what. I love talking to You whenever I need to, the line is never busy and I call 24-7. Lord please be with my facebook family and friends and know I love You. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen

What a day that will be

11.29.15 I was walking around this morning and I just started singing, "What a day that will be" I know you probably know the song pretty good but just in case here are the words:
There is coming a day,
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

There'll be no sorrow there,
No more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain,
No more parting over there;
And forever I will be,
With the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Mark 14:62
"And Jesus said, I AM:
and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power,
and coming in the clouds of heaven."

That song says it all, What a day that will be. no more sorrows, burdens, tears, sickness, no more heartaches, no more clouds, He take me by the hand and lead me through the promise land. Wow is all I can say.

Lord be with my facebook family and friends and know I love You. Let these words sink deep into their souls and I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen

My God is sufficient

11.28.15 My God is sufficient
Billy Graham's devotion
am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. —John 10:10
In God’s economy, you must go down into the valley of grief before you can scale the heights of spiritual glory. You must become tired and weary of living alone before you seek and find the fellowship of Christ. You must come to the end of “self” before you can begin to live. The happiest day of my life was when I realized that my own ability, my own goodness, and my own morality were insufficient in the sight of God. I am not exaggerating when I say that my mourning was turned to joy, and my sighing into singing. Happy are they that mourn for the inadequacy of self, for they shall be comforted with the sufficiency of God.
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

We are saved through the grace of Christ, who paid the price of our sins.
Our works, such as repentance and keeping the commandments, do not save us, but they are requirements set by the Savior to help transform us.
God’s grace is divine power to help us with all of our shortcomings and is available to us at all times.
Too many are giving up on the Church because they are tired of constantly feeling like they are falling short. They have tried in the past, but they continually feel like they are just not good enough. They don’t understand grace.
Grace is not a booster engine that kicks in once our fuel supply is exhausted. Rather, it is our constant energy source. It is not the light at the end of the tunnel but the light that moves us through the tunnel. Grace is not achieved somewhere down the road. It is received right here and right now.
God’s grace is sufficient. Jesus’s grace is sufficient. It is enough. It is all we need. Don’t quit. Keep trying. Don’t look for escapes and excuses. Look for the Lord and His perfect strength. Don’t search for someone to blame. Search for someone to help you. Seek Christ, and, as you do, you will feel the enabling power and divine help we call His amazing grace.

My God is sufficient to meet all my needs.

God I come to You asking that You keep Your loving arms around all my facebook family and friends, if any of them needs reassurance about Your grace then God please show them. Know that I love You and I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.

Has God been good to you

11.27.15 Has God been good to you?
Psalm 13:6 I will sing the LORD's praise, for he has been good to me.
God is good. Everything He does is good and wonderful. Everything God gives and offers is greater than what the devil offers, so shouldn’t our expectations come from God? God wants to do something outrageously wonderful in your life every moment of every day. But you have to be ready and expect it to happen.
Isaiah 30:18 (AMP) says it perfectly: “Therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you…. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him….”
God is looking and longing for someone who’s waiting for Him to be good to them. God wants to be good to you, but you have to be expecting Him to move in your life.
Today is your day to start believing something good is going to happen to you! God is working in your life right now, and when you get your breakthrough, it will be the result of what God has been doing for a long time. Whether you see it or feel it or not, keep praying and expecting because God is longing to be gracious and good to you.

I've had some good days
I've had some hills to climb
I've had some weary days
And some sleepless nights

But when I look around
And I think things over
All of my good days
Outweigh my bad days
I won't complain

Sometimes the clouds are low
I can hardly see the road
I ask a question, Lord
Lord, why so much pain?
But he knows what's best for me
Although my weary eyes
They can't see
So I'll just say thank you Lord
I won't complain

The Lord
Has been so good to me
He's been good to me
More than this old world or you could ever be
He's been so good
To me

He dried all of my tears away
Turned my midnights into day
So I'll just say thank you Lord
I've been lied on
But thank you Lord
I've been talked about
But thank you Lord
I've been misunderstood
But thank you Lord
You might be sick
Body reeking with pain
But thank you Lord
The bills are due
Don't know where the money coming from
But thank you Lord
Thank you Lord
Thank you Lord
I want
I want to thank God
God
God
God
Has been so good to me
He's been good to me
More than this old world or you could ever be
He's been so good
He's been so good
He's been so good
So good
So good
So good
So good
To me
He dried all of my tears away
Turned my midnight into day

1 verse:

I've always had a place to sleep. Clothes to wear and food to eat. God has been so good to me. I thank you Lord for mom and dad, the best friends on earth I've had. God has been so good to me.

Chorus:
God has been so good to me, and I'm thankful for a fine family, the little church that I attend, and for all my christian friends. God has been so good to me.

2 verse:
Thank God I live where men are free, where there's love and liberty. God has been so good to me. If all I had He took away, then I still would have to say. God has been so good to me.

God I come to You thanking You for always being good to me. I know sometimes I don't deserve it but You always come through. Lord please be with my facebook family and friends and know I love You. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.
