Break free of the strongholds in your life with God's help

5.31.15 Break free of the strongholds in your life with God's help

Are you a Christian struggling with strongholds in your life? Don’t give up and don’t give in. There is hope for you. The price for your victory has already been paid. Jesus died for your hang-ups and guarantees your total victory in every area of your life. Is there any sin in your life that you have not repented ? Is there anyone that you have not forgiven? Is there any past involvement in the drugs, occult, witchcraft? Is there a history of generational curse in this area? What is the temptation? Do you really want to be free of the temptation in other words is there anything that you are still trying to hold on? Jesus paid it all. Satan has no right, no authority to anything that concern you. Jesus has set you free to walk in liberty. Learn what weapons are included in your arsenal and how to use them.

Weapons: word of God, Blood of Jesus, armour of God, name of Jesus, power of binding and loosing, prayer and fasting. now faith and confession of your mouth, praise and worship, ministering and warring angels.

Identify the enemy. Lust, habits i.e. Drugs, alcohol, lying, manipulatin, sexual appetite, thought life, unholy desires, jealousy, rebellion, and resentment. It is no one business but yours. Be careful when coming into agreement with someone to pray with you. Yes, the word says confess your faults to one another but you do not need to share every detail. People tend to have long memories of faults of others. Some may not be strong enough to handle the information you would share.

Check your armour. Are you walking in sanctification? You cannot be back and forth, in and out of God. Remember you cannot give Satan any legal ground. Apply the Blood of Jesus to your mind, will, emotions and body daily and as often as needed.

THE ANSWER IS IN THE BIBLE. Search the word for the scripture that applies to your situation. IT IS IN THERE. Find as many scriptures that you can. Read, write and post them where you can see it. Confess them throughout the day as if you were taking natural medicine.

Surrender it to the father. Release it to him. You cannot overcome this by your own will or strength. It is through the power of the Holy Ghost. Pray, fast, call upon the name of Jesus, trust and stand on the word. For every area that you bind, you must loose something in its place i.e. bind up lust and loose purity, bind up appetite for drugs and loose appetite for the word of God. Do not forget to praise and worship God for giving you victory. Call upon the warring angels to assist you and the ministering angels to minister to your needs.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Now put your name in that verse such as: Barbara can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Romans 15:7 Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Colossians 3:4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

So what ever stronghold you have in your life remember read the verses above and stay focused on God. Satan will always try to come in between you and God but just say "Get thee behind me Satan". Satan never wants you to worship or do anything for God because when we do things for God then it means that Satan is losing the battle.

God I come to you tonight wanting to ask you to take whatever strongholds that I may be trying to hold onto away from me. I put them in your hands because you are Lord of my life. I love you Lord and I want to worship you with all I have and with all I am. Now God please be with my facebook friends and family and know I love you. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.

Turn it over to God

5.30.15 Turn it over to God
You know what ever you go through in life all you need to do is turn it over to God. Let go and let God. No matter what it is God is always there for you. I remember years ago I use to Cuss and I am 1 person that really don't like those words so I let go and let God and from that day forward God took it away from me. When Ben was a little boy he wanted God to give him something to do for Him, so every Sunday morning @ a Church we went to in VA Ben would go up to the alter by himself and pray and then 1 day he came back to his seat and said God told him what He wanted him to do and that was to sing for God. I saw the tears coming down Ben's cheeks and I asked him what was wrong and he said God told me I'm going to sing for Him. So no matter how big or how small you think something is turn it over to God and let Him handle it.

Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Contained within these two verses are several amazing truths: God will sustain us, He will never let us fall, and He cares for us. Taken one at a time, we see first that God declares both His ability and His willingness to be our strength and support—mentally, emotionally and spiritually. He is able (and best of all, willing!) to take everything that threatens to overwhelm us and use it for our benefit. He has promised to “work all things together for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Even at times when we doubt Him, He is still working for our good and His glory.

I'm guilty of the following and I'm not proud of it but I guess that's a part of being human: We often times experience unnecessary anxiety and burdens that we were never meant to carry. He showed her that this occurs when we bring something to God through prayer, but we ultimately end up ‘taking it back’. When we give something to God, it feels wonderful because we are essentially giving the burden, worries, and cares of that thing over to Him. We are doing what Philippians 4:6 instructs us to do which is to, “Not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” And when we do this, (present our requests to Him), we feel an overwhelming peace knowing that it is in His hands, which is what the next verse explains will happen…”And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” The problem lies however, when we ‘take back’ that thing that we gave to Him in the first place. Whether it be taking back control of something we surrendered to Him, trying to take care of ourselves in an area, try to figure out our own way, when we initially asked for His direction…All of these things will cause us to take back the very thing that we gave to God.

A normal person prays to God, 'Don't give me problems.' but a great person prays to God, 'Give me the power to face my problems.'

"Give all your problems to God - He'll be up all night anyway!"

When I first heard this saying I instantly thought of all the nights I used to lay in bed worrying, rehashing, or trying to solve all my problems. In fact, before early recovery it was actually easier to sleep because I would use drugs or alcohol or even enmeshment with other people to help distract me. But when I entered the program, it seemed like it was just me and my problems - I didn't get a lot of sleep!

It took a long time for me to develop enough faith to turn my will and my life (and problems) over to my Higher Power. The idea of it sounded good, but it proved very difficult to do in practice. Oh I could turn it over in my morning meditation, but by noon I had usually taken it all back. And by night? Whew! It was just me and my problems again!

As I progressed in my recovery, I learned that the definition of faith is believing what you cannot see, and the reward of faith is seeing what you believe. Through faith and a developing practice of turning situations, people and problems over to God, I've been rewarded with a life that is, for the most part, happy joyous and free.

And now when I go to sleep, I give all my problems to God because my faith tells me he'll be up all night anyway!

God I come to you and I know I'm guilty of giving my problems to you and then taking them back. I come to you asking that you give me the strength to put my problems in your hands and leave them there. You are more equipped to handle them then I am. I love you for being who you are and for loving me like you do. Now please be with my facebook family and friends and know that I love you and God if there's 1 of my facebook family or friends who is having the problem with giving you their worries and taking them back let them know all they have to do is leave them in your hands. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.

Bear others burdens

5.29.15 Have you ever thought about what it means to bear someone else's burdens? Let's see what the Bible says:

When we were hopelessly lost forever because of sin, Jesus took our burden of sins and bore them in His own body on the cross, so that we could be saved. (1 Peter 2:24). In so doing He has given us an example of pouring Himself out, and lovingly bearing burdens that were not His own. Though none of us can ever equal His sacrifice or bear anyone's sin for them, He has given us the privilege of following His example in bearing one another's burdens.

* Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

Sometimes bearing someone's burden will be doing for them what they cannot do for themselves, as Jesus did for us. It may mean taking care of someone who is sick or disabled, taking care of children and housework when their parents are sick or in surgery, or just too worn out to cope well anymore. It might be helping an elderly person with things that have become too difficult for them, or visiting them in the nursing home to ease their burden of loneliness.

* We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak. Romans 15:1

Other times bearing someone's burden will be simply being there for them and praying for them. Sometimes we are near enough to our loved ones that we can physically be there for them. Often times there are hundreds of miles between us, but we can still "be there" for them emotionally. There are so many tragedies in life, that leave the heart so broken and overwhelmed that it will take a very long time to heal. No human being can take away the agony and pain, but we can suffer with them. We can carry their burdens in our hearts, and pray for them many times a day. And we can be always available as a safe place for them to be heartbroken and sad, with a listening ear, a caring heart, and a loving shoulder. I think everyone needs a place where they do not have to worry about putting on a smile, or drying the tears, and being cheerful. Everyone needs a place to just be themselves, and know that they are not bearing their crushing burdens all alone in the big wide world. The grief and wounds of deep tragedies take a long time to work through and heal. We can only wrap their broken burdened hearts tenderly and gently in our love and care, and weep with them.

* Weep with those who weep. Romans 12:15

So friends and family if someone needs you to help them out whether it means to watch their kids while they deal with something or take care of someone who is sick. Sometimes someone may just need you to be there for them in time of need or maybe they just need you to listen and not say anything. Whatever it is love one another and make sure they know you love them.

God I pray if any of my friends or family need anything then they will feel they can ask me. I would hope that I will have the desire as Christ did when He died on the Cross to bear our burdens. God please watch over my facebook family and friends and know that I love you. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen

5.28.15 Well today I want to talk about something I talked about a while back but I don't think people really realize the need to forgive people. You may not forget what happened but God says we have to forgive. Forgiveness in the Bible is a prominent theme. Yet, it's not uncommon for Christians to have questions about forgiveness. The act of forgiving does not come easy for most of us. Our natural instinct is to recoil in self-protection when we've been injured. We don't naturally overflow with mercy, grace and understanding when we've been wronged. Is forgiveness a conscious choice, a physical act involving the will, or is it a feeling, an emotional state of being?

Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Lewis B. Smedes wrote in his book, Forgive and Forget, "When you release the wrongdoer from the wrong, you cut a malignant tumor out of your inner life. You set a prisoner free, but you discover that the real prisoner was yourself."

That statement is so true if you think about it, when you are holding a grudge against someone and not forgiving them it eats @ your very soul. It can actually put you in a state of depression and you may not realize it but it can destroy you.

Forgiveness Quote: "Forgiveness always seems so easy, when we need it, and so hard when we need to give it." --Fresh Start Devotionals

Wow another true quote, have you ever thought about that? It is so easy when you are the one accepting the forgiveness but it''s so hard to tell someone you forgive them. Ever wonder why that is? Maybe it could be our pride which is a sin in itself.

We will know the work of forgiveness is complete when we experience the freedom that comes as a result. We are the ones who suffer most when we choose not to forgive. When we do forgive, the Lord sets our hearts free from the anger, bitterness, resentment and hurt that previously imprisoned us.

Matthew 18:21-22
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

This answer by Jesus makes it clear that forgiveness is not easy for us. It's not a one-time choice and then we automatically live in a state of forgiveness. Forgiveness may require a lifetime of forgiving, but it is important to the Lord. We must continue forgiving until the matter is settled in our heart.

The best reason to forgive is because Jesus commanded us to forgive. We learn from Scripture, if we don't forgive, neither will we be forgiven:

Matthew 6:14-16
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

We forgive out of obedience to the Lord. It is a choice, a decision we make. However, as we do this "forgiving," we discover the command is in place for our own good, and we receive the reward of our forgiveness—freedom.

One of the reasons I choose this topic tonight is because I have a lot on my mind lately and it seems there is so much drama on facebook where people are being done wrong. Family members don't even talk any more for 1 reason or another. People life is to short to not love one another. God knows and sees all the violence and hatred in the world now days. Do you think He enjoys watching everyone destroying people by doing wrong to them, or what about all the killings going on? Do you think God likes seeing people killed over something stupid. Look @ all the little kids that are being kidnapped for 1 reason or another and then they get killed, for what? What did that child do that they deserve that? God made the ultimate sacrifice, He gave His only Son so that we may live. Really people wake up before it's too late.

Brothers and Sisters are fighting among each other, Mothers and Daughters, Dads and Sons. What is wrong with this picture, I beg you if there's someone in your life who you are having problems with don't air it on Facebook but do like the old days and pick up the phone before it's too late. Wouldn't you hate for that person to die tonight knowing that you never made up with them. It even happens in the Church where someone might get mad @ someone and that pride gets in the way and people either keep going to the Church and don't talk to each other or 1 of them may quit going to Church maybe all together. Wow do you think God is happy about what's happening in the world today? Once again I'm begging you if you are having a problem with someone pick up the phone right now and ask for forgiveness. If I have done anything wrong to someone I'm asking right now that you let me know and I will personally tell you I am sorry and ask for your forgiveness.

God I come to you asking that if I've done anything to dishonor you please forgive me and I come asking that if there is anyone out there that I've done something wrong to that they will forgive me for that. I ask if there is anyone of my facebook family or friends who has someone to ask forgiveness to then they will call them tonight because tomorrow may be too late. God I think you for giving your Son so that we may live even though we don't deserve it. Now please be with my facebook family and friends and know that I love you. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen
