miracles

9.14.15 Okay so last nights blog didn't go as well as I would've hoped for. I was wanting to see what God has done in other peoples lives, so tonight I'm going to do it a little different. I know I've talked about the miracles in my life before and there's too many to name but I'm going to talk a little bit about the miracles that have happened in my life and I would like it if you would share a miracle or maybe something God has done in your life. Last night it looked like God hasn't done anything in any of my facebook family or friends lives. Come on share a little about God.
Well as you have heard God put Ernest and I together and within 4 months of meeting each other we got married.
Ben was born 7.14.1987, 6 weeks early, with 2 holes in his heart, very little muscle tone, tongue tied and yellow jaundice. The Dr. said he wouldn't make it, well Ben kept getting stronger and stronger and a little while later they said that Ben had Muscular Destrophy and he would be dead by the age of 16. I took Ben to the Dr. a lot and then 1 day I took Ben and they ran tests and the Dr. said it's amazing there's no signs of the Muscular Destrophy and Ben said God healed me.
Christina was born 8.20.1989, she was trying to be born 8 weeks early and the Dr. put me on medicine and complete bed rest and I can't sit still like that but I was trying for the sake of my baby. My mother in law and father in law came to stay in a trailer outside our place in case I needed them. She was going to help with Ben when the time came for me to go to the hospital. Well after about 2 weeks I couldn't stand it any more and I prayed, "God if she's going to live then let her be born tonight. I went into labor and Ernest thought I was nuts because I was on that medicine and I went to the hospital and the Dr. tried to stop the labor again and the medicine almost killed both the baby and I. I told the Dr. God said she was going to be born tonight and of course she looked @ me like I was nuts. Well she was born with bad yellow jaundice and Hemlickmembraine (however you spell it). So the Dr. said she wouldn't make it through the night and we set beside that hospital bed that night praying. The next day the Dr. came in and said she didn't get any worse and she's better but she would have to stay in the hospital until her due date which would be 6 weeks, well needless to say she came home 2 weeks later.
Zack was born 3.9.1994 6 weeks early, he had a hole in his heart, bad yellow jaundice and a touch of hemlockmembrain. The said he wouldn't make it through the night but guess what he's now 21.
If those aren't true life miracles then I don't know what are. I have so many miracle stories I could share with you but it would take all night.

Throughout our lives we have all seen or heard about something miraculous happening. Whether it's someone being healed, saved, winning something, living long or even being brought back from the brink of death, miracles are defined by the supernatural measures God uses to reveal Himself to us.

When we see or hear about these miracles, it reminds us that God doesn't depend on nature or man's abilities in order to do the impossible. We rely on Him to make these miracles happen. When they are witnessed, it does something to people that they will never forget. We trust that God will work miracles in our lives in His timing and purpose.

Miracle 1 - An elderly couple having a baby. (Genesis 12-21)
"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).

Miracle 2 - A nation of people walking across an ocean bed with water on both sides. (Exodus 12-14)
"He is the one you praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes" (Deuteronomy 10:21).

Miracle 3 - A jar of flour and jug of oil staying full until a famine passed. (1 Kings 17)
"I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?" (Jeremiah 32:27).

Miracle 4 - A grown man healed of leprosy after dipping seven times in a river. (2 Kings 5)
"For I am the Lord, who heals you" (Exodus 15:26).

Miracle 5 - A man raised from the dead three days after his funeral. (John 11)
"He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted" (Job 5:9).

God was in the miracle business then and He's in the miracle business now. Come on people just share a little something God has done for you. Everyone has a story, so why not share it.

God I come to you allowing me to share my stories and share the blogs you have me share. God I ask that if there is anyone of my facebook friends and family who have a story of what you've done in there lives let them share it. You never know who it might touch. Lord maybe someone else may be going through that same thing and then they see You pulled that person through so they might have Hope. Lord please be with my facebook family and friends and know that I love you i ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.

What's it mean to be a believer

9.12.15 What does it mean to be a Believer?
A BELIEVER is “one who believes,” that is, one who has faith in something or someone

I am entreating you, then, I, the prisoner in the Lord,
to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,
with all humility and meekness,
with patience, bearing with one another in love,
endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit with the tie of peace:
one body and one spirit,
according as you were called also with one expectation of your calling;
one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
one God and Father of all,
Who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4:1-6

Believers Receive the Word

We need the Word (vs. 6a). We do not need new, cutting edge social theories. There have been so many come only to be later discarded as unworkable. Theories about happiness, marriage, raising children and so forth originate from the same folks who once thought the earth was flat; who once used leeches to heal sickness; who say eggs are unhealthy, then say they're healthy; then unhealthy, then healthy, according to what decade you live in. We do not need another theory.

Instead, we need the eternal word of life! (John 5:24; Philippians 2:16; 1 Corinthians 15:2, 58) It is a serious matter to reject it!

The word “received” means to “welcome”; the way you would welcome an honored guest into your home. You are eager to make him/her comfortable and at ease. Not everyone at Thessalonica received the word this way (the latter part of the verse speaks of tribulation brought on believers by those who rejected the word). Nor are we encouraged to blindly receive the word (Acts 17:11). We should investigate it, weigh it, and make a reasonable decision. But having said that, far more blindly reject the word than blindly receive it.

Believers Accept Both Tribulation & Joy Brought By Faith

Sometimes receiving the word brings a certain amount of trouble. As one is coming to the point of faith, there is a struggle. Jesus said it would often be this way (John 16:33).

Sometimes it is in the midst of turmoil that people enter the kingdom (Acts 14:22b). Sometimes the only way to escape tribulation is to simply ignore the word of the kingdom. Amazingly, it is in the times of tribulation that the 1st century church grew so rapidly.

We do not often think of tribulation and joy as partners, but they are in verse 6 of our text. There can both be outer tribulation and inner joy (see also 2 Corinthians 4:16-18). Where does joy come from in such adversity? From the hope that is within us; the confidence, peace and strength (Romans 5:1-5; Philippians 4:7,8; 4:4). These things belong to the faithful in spite of tribulation. It is a gratifying thing to suffer loss when such tests your faith and your faith rises to meet the challenge, because the loss is temporary, but victory is forever.

Believers Are Good Examples

The disciples at Thessalonica were models of faith (1 Thessalonians 1:7). The word ”example” means “pattern”. Others are encouraged to look at the Thessalonian faithful and urged to “be like them.” Would it make you feel pretty good to know that the apostle Paul would select you to be an “example” or “pattern” that others should follow? The Thessalonians had earned it! They were not good examples by accident! It is proper to imitate the faith and lives of others if they imitate Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1) It is not enough to “talk” or “think” Christianity. We must “do” it (James 1:22-25).

Believers Sound Forth Their Faith

The Thessalonians were clear voices of faith (vs. 8). It is the “word of the Lord” that should be “sounded forth”. That's our business as a church. The Lord Himself is the source of our message (1 Thessalonians 2:13). Churches that deal in politics, drama, the arts, psychology, entertainment…. are in the wrong business.

The phrase “sound forth” refers to the sound made by trumpets. It is clear, distinguishable, obvious and noticeable. We do not offer new age fads; we do not offer human creeds changed by the whim of the human mind; we do not consult the opinion polls to determine what we teach; we do not give counsel based on modern trends or on long held traditions of men, We preach the word! (2 Timothy 4:2-4).

Believers Reject the Worthless

Christians view things from a different perspective (vs. 9). The world has a knack for esteeming the worthless and rejecting the precious. Many are overdosing on selfishness and greed, exalting the wicked and wickedness. Love, honor and godliness are often mocked. The family is troubled. It is time to “turn to God from idols”!

This is why cowards do not become Christians. This kind of commitment calls for the courage to refuse to allow the world to have its way with us. It will not tell us how to dress, how to talk, how to live, and what is important.

Believers Wait for Jesus

“Waiting” is not simply biding our time! (vs. 10). It is a “wait” of busy preparation as we “make all things ready” on a personal level for His coming. The Day will come when the trumpets of God will announce the end of the final hour (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18). All worldly plans and ambitions will be rendered null and void forever. Tongues that mocked will confess Jesus as they watch those whom they once mocked rise to meet the Lord in the air, bright shining as the sun. And then, judgment. And then, eternity. For the believer, an eternal victory!

If your not a believer then what are you waiting for? God is waiting for you to say yes.

God I come to you thinking you for saving my soul all those years ago. I love you more and more each day. God please be with my friends and family who don't know you as their Lord and Savior, I pray that today will be the day for salvation. Lord be with my facebook family and friends and know that I love you. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.

Journey with God

Are you ready to start your journey with God?
EVERYONE IS ON A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY. GOD IS CALLING YOU TO HIMSELF.

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

Do you believe that God LOVES you and offers a wonderful PLAN for your life?
God's Love
"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16).
God’s Plan
[Christ is speaking] “My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.” (John 10:10)
Why is most people not experiencing God’s plan for their life?

Would you agree that people are sinful and separated from God, and therefore we cannot know Him personally or experience His love and plan for our lives?
People are Sinful
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)
We were created to have a personal relationship with God, but by our own choice and self-will we have gone our own independent way and that relationship has been broken. This self-will, often seen as an attitude of active rebellion towards God or a lack of interest in Him, is an evidence of what the Bible calls sin.

“But the trouble is that your sins have cut you off from God.” (Isaiah 59:2)
"The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23).

Jesus Christ is God's only provision for our sin. Through Him alone we can know God personally and experience God's love and plan.
He Died In Our Place
“But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:8)

He Rose From the Dead
“Christ died for our sins … He was buried, and He was raised from the dead on the third day … He was seen by Peter and then by the twelve apostles. After that He was seen by more than five hundred …”
He Is the Only Way to God
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me'" (John 14:6).

We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know God personally and experience His love.
We Must Receive Christ
"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name" (John 1:12)
We Receive Christ Through Faith
"By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast" (Ephesians 2:8, 9).
When We Receive Christ, We Experience a New Birth
(See John 3:1-8)
We Receive Christ by Personal Invitation
[Christ is speaking] "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him" (Revelation 3:20).
Receiving Christ Involves:
Recognizing our need for Christ
Turning to Christ and away from self (repentance).
Trusting Christ to come into our lives, forgive our sins, and make us what He wants us to be.
Just to agree that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. We receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of the will.

Self Directed Life
A life without Jesus Christ. Self is in the center and on the throne; Christ (†) is outside.
Christ Directed Life
A life entrusted to Christ. Christ is in the center and on the throne, and self yields to Christ.

Do you have a personal relationship with God? See below, some verses from the Bible which have helped me.

Revelation 3:20 "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."

Romans 3:23"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 10: 9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Romans 10:13 "for, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' "

John Bunyan, in his “Pilgrim’s Progress”, has made many people realized that Christianity is not just a religion, it’s more than a religion, it’s a way of life, or maybe in this case I would like to say, it is someone’s journey with God and to God’s heart.

If you haven't started your journey with God yet, then what are you waiting for? There's no time like the present.

God I come to you thinking you for taking me on this beautiful journey. I'm so glad I accepted you and decided to take this journey with you. Lord if there's any of my facebook friends and family who is not going on this journey let today be the day that they join us on this journey. Lord please be with my facebook family and friends and know that I love you. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.

When God shows up

9.10.15 What happens when God shows up?
“The one true POWER SOURCE” – being plugged into the Holy Spirit through having a relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord. It is imperative for each one of us to be SURE of our SALVATION – to KNOW that we KNOW that we are saved, that we are a Christian. The POWER that comes our way – comes because God is Faithful to those who are Faithful to Him. God will provide the Power to those who have a Relationship with Him. Finally, God will provide Power to those who Ask Him for It. God truly shows up in a way that no one can truly explain. “A God Moment” or a “Wow Moment” occurs.

When God Shows Up - Hearts are Mended – Hearts are Unified – Hearts are Flaming (Fire Filled)
Believers were of one heart and soul
All things were in common

When God shows up on the scene – bitterness disappears. Wrath is abandoned – clamour is flushed. Individuals who once were at odds become adversaries and allies. God brings peace – God brings hope – God brings Himself (Perfection) to an imperfect group of men and women.

“Hearts are Mended” – Times were tough – Peter and John had been challenged – their future was uncertain on earth (Eternal future was secure). The glue to the mending process came with the collective prayer as the believers prayed together.

“Hearts are Unified” – If a mighty move of God is to happen – the church must be together. Believers were unified through the collective prayer. The unification brought on a manifestation of the Glory of God.

“Hearts are Fire-Filled” – An occurrence that only happens when God’s people seek His face!

Acts 2:42-47
3,000 were saved because of this:
Church was Doctrinally Sound – they knew what they believed:
God the Father (Creator/Sustainer/Provider)
God the Son (Jesus Christ – Born of a Virgin, Lived the Sinless Life, Died on the Cross for our sins, Defeated death, hell, and the grave, Ascended to Heaven to prepare for us a place – those who believe)
God the Holy Spirit (Leader and Guider of our Lives)

Church Loved the Lord and Loved Each Other
Church Prayed for One Another
Church was Unified
Church Praised God for what He had done and was doing

People were being added to the church daily
Hearts were on fire for God.
When God Shows Up – His Unmerited Favor is Abundant

John 10:10 – Jesus said, I have come that they may have life – and have it more abundantly.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 – My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

See what is amazing:
When God Shows Up, He must first be invited
But when He does show up – Hearts are mended, unified, and set on fire
His grace is abundantly supplied to all
And through His love – His people share what is not theirs to begin with.

Peter and John, according to the Scripture, didn’t have to preach on tithing or money or possessions – the Holy Spirit took care of it.

Needs were met – others came – same things happened.

Jesus is the only way to truly:
Have a Broken Heart mended
Have a Broken Relationship Healed
Have a Cold Heart – filled with Fire
Experience Peace
Experience Life
Experience Love
Experience Grace

He "shows up" in many dramatic, special, supernatural, spectacular ways. In the Old Testament, God reveals Himself in many forms. He speaks once through a burning bush, later out of a whirlwind, and to Elijah in a gentle whisper. When God showed up, something significant happened or was about to happen, something we need to pay attention to.

In the New Testament, God showed up in the form of a servant. Jesus did not show up as a storm, but He did show up in the storm, and He stilled the storm by His command. He showed up after His death, alive again, having conquered the grave. He appeared in a dramatic way to Saul of Tarsus. At Pentecost, he Holy Spirit, previously likened to a dove, shows up, manifesting flames of fire and the sound of a rushing mighty wind.

So that being said let me ask you something, "has God shown up in your life yet?" If you don't have a relationship with Him then let today be the day. We never know when our last breath will be so get into a relationship with God now. Lord please be with my facebook family and friends and know that I love you. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.
