Reserve your spot today

6.7.15 I went to Calvary Road Baptist Church this morning for their homecoming and God truly Blessed us. One of the things that was asked today was: Have you reserved your spot in Heaven? Well have you made your reservation yet?

Everyday of life is an ongoing gift from GOD. Not just to live life but another chance to get right before its too late. To wrong any rights, forgive any trespasses, produce right works etc. Chances to do all that you can to please the LORD.
How old are you? Divide that into how many days the LORD has gave you life. Now, how many days have you rejected the invitation to Heaven from GOD? Well I have some good news for you. The invitation still stands. Accept the gift of salvation today and reserve your seat in Heaven. Its gonna be an ongoing celebration of victory and I dont want you to miss it.
May GOD bless you and all you do for His glory.

Luke 14:16 Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. 17 At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ 18 “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me. ’19 “Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’ 20 “Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’ 21 “The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ 22 “‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’ 23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. 24 I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’”

How long will we continue to make excuses to God, we take for granted that nothing will happen to us.

The banquet is ready now, Luke 15:17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! God is always ready. He is never behind time. God did not create Adam until there was a garden prepared for his home. God did not make his wife, Eve, until Adam was emotionally ready for her. God did not invite us, His Church, to salvation until the preparation was completed through the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus spoke from the cross, “IT IS FINISHED!” 2 Corinthians 6:2 For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.”tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

Feed your Soul

6.6.15 You know how you feed your plants water or even plant food, you feed your animals when their hungry, you feed your kids and you even eat, but do you feed your soul?

Your body needs food everyday so does your soul, many people neglect to feed their soul. Many of us have a soul that’s surviving but God wants us to have a soul that’s thriving. Sometimes we put our work, our kids, or even our friends ahead of our soul and that ends up getting us into trouble. When we fall for the trap of not giving our soul the nourishment that it needs, we’ll find that we’re drained and that our faith is weak. That’s why it’s very important that we feed our soul every day with the knowledge and wisdom that we find through the meditation of God’s Word. Not only does meditating on God’s word serve as food for our soul, but it’s also a spiritual weapon against the enemy who’s always at war against us.

So let's take a look at what we can do to feed our soul:

Read the Bible daily but don't just read it fast.  Read a little and meditate on what you read so you can understand it. Want to change your life? Change the way you think. Meditate on God's word and everything will fall into place.

Read devotionals: There are lots of devotionals online or in book form that you can read.  There are devotionals for moms, dads, singles, people struggling with the loss of a loved one, and so much more. The important thing here is to do your due diligence about the author and make sure that he or she is writing the devotional based on sound doctrine. God’s Word is nourishment to our soul. It’s through the meditation of God’s Word that we taste and see that God is good.  As Christians, we need to read God’s word daily or else we’ll get spiritually dry. So if you’re not feeding your soul at all or if you’re not feeding your soul enough, then commit to reading and meditating on God’s Word more. It doesn’t have to be anything big, it can be as little as an extra 5 minutes a day. God can speak to you in powerful way in 5 minutes but you have to let Him.

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

1 Peter 2:2 Like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,

Hebrews 5:12-14 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

So with that being said remember you don't just need food for the body but you need food for your soul also.

God I come to you thinking you for your Spiritual food and nourishing my soul with your love and your word.  God I want to make more time to read and study your word because I want to get to know you more.  God please put a loving hand of love over my facebook family and friends and keep watch over them and know that I love you.  I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.

Life changing power

6.4.15 Life Changing Power

I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
—Galatians 2:20

Look @ what Billy Graham had to say: One day, by a simple act of faith, I decided to take Jesus Christ at His word. I could not come by way of the intellect alone; no one can. That does not mean that we reject reason. God has given us minds and the ability to reason wherever reason is appropriate, but the final and decisive step is taken by faith. I came by faith. Does it work when a person comes, repenting of his sins, to receive Christ by faith? I can only tell you that it worked in my own life. Something did happen to me. I didn’t become perfect, but the direction of my life was changed. I found a new dimension to life. I found a new capacity to love that I had never known before.

Being a Christian doesn't mean your going to be perfect but it means your forgiven and we need to strive to be more like Jesus.

Ephesians 1:13 ... You put your faith in Christ and were given the promised Holy Spirit to show that you belong to God. 14 The Spirit also makes us sure that we will be given what God has stored up for his people. Then we will be set free, and God will be honored and praised.
2 Thessalonians 2:13 We must thank God at all times for you, friends, you whom the Lord loves. For God chose you as the first to be saved by the Spirit's power to make you his holy people and by your faith in the truth.

Ephesians chapter 4:22 So get rid of your old self, which made you live as you used to-the old self that was being destroyed by its deceitful desires. 23 Your hearts and minds must be made completely new, 24 and you must put on the new self, which is created in God's likeness and reveals itself in the true life that is upright and holy. 25 No more lying, then! Each of you must tell the truth to the other believer, because we are all members together in the body of Christ. 26 If you become angry, do not let your anger lead you into sin, and do not stay angry all day. 27 Don't give the Devil a chance. 28 If you used to rob, you must stop robbing and start working, in order to earn an honest living for yourself and to be able to help the poor. 29 Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you. 30 Don't make God's Spirit sad. The Spirit makes you sure that someday you will be free from your sins. 31 Stop being bitter and angry and mad at others. Don't yell at one another or curse each other or ever be rude. 32 Instead, be kind and merciful, and forgive others, just as God forgave you because of Christ.

So the above verses say to get rid of your old ways and make new decisions just like God will reveal to you. If you get angry with someone don't stay angry all day put it in the past, because for 1 thing if something happened to the other person then you could never make it right again. Be the bigger man and make things right between the 2 of you. Remember also the tongue is a deadly weapon, that being said watch what you say to people because you don't want say words that can hurt someone. There's so many people who deal with bully's and look what happens sometimes, they commit suicide because they don't feel loved. But being Christians we need to show the love of God to everyone. I know some people may be hard to love but look what Jesus did. Do you think we deserve what He did for us, He died for us so that we could live. Also don't think your going to change over night and God doesn't expect you to but He wants you to do the best you can.

Ephesians 2:1 Once you were dead, doomed forever because of your many sins. 2 You used to live just like the rest of the world, full of sin, obeying Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. 3 All of us used to live that way, following the passions and desires of our evil nature. We were born with an evil nature, and we were under God's anger just like everyone else. 4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so very much, 5 that even while we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's special favor that you have been saved!)

“He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.” Psalm 1:3

Just from this one verse we see the life changing power of God’s Word. This person is characterized:
Like a tree—a symbol of strength and uprightness
Planted by the rivers of water—fixed and abiding in the refreshing rivers of water
That brings forth its fruit in its season—a fruitful life
Whose leaf also shall not wither—with roots so deep into the Living Water, even the heat of trials shall not cause this tree’s leaves to wither
And whatever he does shall prosper—a prosperous life

God I come to you thinking you for being in my life and loving me enough to forgive all the mistakes I make. I strive to be more like Jesus but you know I am a human and humans have a tendency to fail you, but with your love and help you will mold me into the person you want me to be. I think you for my facebook family and friends. Now God I ask that you be with my facebook family and friends and know that I love you. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.

How can God love a sinner like me

6.5.15 How can God love a sinner like me? Have you ever asked that question? Well let's see what the Bible says:

Would you love God if He didn’t love you?
Thankfully, you’ll never have to answer that question because God will always love you.
A better question is why does God continue to love us despite our depravity and sinfulness?
Because the Lord Almighty loves us unconditionally.
Whether or not you love Him back, God will always love you.
It’s agape love.

If we were to love others as God loves us, there would be no turmoil, no wars, no fights over territory, no stealing, no killings, no crime, no backstabbing, and no ill-will towards one’s neighbor. Peace and rest would rule the day.
But humankind has trouble seeing the big picture when it ignores God’s love.
Our God is incredibly merciful. His heart is consumed by His love for us. Just as He holds up the world with His love, we hold Him up in our hearts with the very same love.
Love is more than a feeling. It is the substance of God’s nature.
God created us for fellowship, with a free will to make decisions, be they right or wrong. His love won’t allow Him to give up on us.
He hates the sin, not the sinner.
God’s love for us, through His son Jesus, wipes away all our past sins. They’re gone!
We are wed to God through His love, and His love never fails! It’s a forever love!
He will love you when nobody else will.
He will love you when you feel you don’t deserve His love.
He will love you when you are so low you have to look up to look down.
He will love you even when you think you have made it impossible for Him to love you.
He loves you through your tears and sorrows, through your joy and accomplishments, through all the highs and lows of life.
And He will still love you when you turn your back on Him.

This is a little long but the following was written by John Piper:
How can God care for a sinner like me?

If you read Psalm 107 you'll notice that it talks about God rescuing people who are in trouble. You'll also notice that a number of them are in trouble because of their own sin. Nevertheless, God comes to them when they cry out to him, and he rescues them over and over again.

So whether you've wrecked your life with drugs, abortion, wrong divorce, multiple marriages, illicit sex, lying, or fraud, you can see from this psalm that those things do not disqualify you from God's rescue. The people in the psalm got themselves into their situations by their own stupidity—rather than someone else's persecution against them—yet God still hears their cry and saves them.

And when you go to the cross you see what it is that makes this kind of mercy possible. The fact that Jesus died in our place, covered all our sin, took all our guilt, removed all our condemnation, and has provided us with a perfection and a righteousness which we could never perform on our own—this is the ground upon which everyone who trusts in him can claim the same mercy from Psalm 107 for themselves. Because of the cross we can know that their own situation right now does not rule us out of God's blessing, favor, and care.

Does God really care for those who have messed their own lives up? If they cry to him, he will come and he will care, because that's what Christ bought for us when he died.

Wow that pretty much says it all doesn't it, even if we don't show God love back He still loves us.

God I come to you thinking you for loving a sinner such as I. Even when I don't deserve your love you still have love for me. You love us no matter how bad we've been and I think you for that. You are a just and righteous God, when we need chastising you chastise us. We can really make a mess of our lives but you come along and pull us up out of our filth. God please be with my facebook friends and family and know that I love you. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.

10 Things the Church Puts Ahead of Reaching People

6.3.15 I found something interesting while I was trying to figure out what God wanted me to talk about tonight. Look @ what I found:

10 Things the Church Puts Ahead of Reaching People

by joshdaffern

Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Location – Some people are tied to an address. Church is an address, a location. I’ve seen churches die because their people moved away and they weren’t willing to reach the new folks in their neighborhood.

Buildings/Architecture – For some, the bricks and mortar are what make the church sacred, not the people. At my first church when our youth group exploded in growth we had to move into the sanctuary because it was the only room big enough for us. We had some ladies that were so concerned that every Thursday morning they would come into the sanctuary after our Wednesday nights and look up and down the pews for knicks or scratches. They were more concerned with the architecture then the people that architecture was designed to meet.

Are there any people out there like that more concerned if a pew gets a scratch then worrying about the people who should be filling those pews?

Tradition – You knew this one would get in here. Tradition has killed many a church. When churches pursue the past more than they pursue people, that church will die. Many times preachers will preach on the last seven words of Jesus, the seven phrases Jesus said while on the cross. I’ll never forget what a Bible college professor told me once. He said, “Do you know what the last seven words of a church are? We’ve never done it that way before.”

Have you ever heard those words before or maybe you're guilty of those words,m We've never done it that way before.

Music preferences – This one splits up more churches than perhaps anything else. We’re fine reaching the next generation for Jesus, as long as they like our music our way. That’s putting music preferences above people. And I’m not saying the contemporary music is the final answer. It’s not a particular style of music but the heart behind that’s willing to give up musical preferences to reach the next generation for Jesus. I’ve said this before, but when I’m older and I’ve got great-grandkids running around, I’m not sure what kind of church music they’ll like, but I guarantee you I probably won’t like it. The question is will I be willing to put reaching others ahead of my musical preferences?

Well I've heard people say I wish they'd play the old hymns and I'm not knocking that because i love the old hymns but I'm like the above paragraph we need to focus on the next generation.

Programs – The early church reached their world for Christ and became the dominant religion in the Roman Empire without Sunday School, without VBS, without youth groups or children’s choirs. Church programs are designed to reach people, but we can never let them become more important than people.

Control – Some churches are stifled because there’s a few families in control, and they simply don’t want to give up control. They put control ahead of reaching people.

Are you a control person well maybe you need to pray that God will be more in control then you are.

Social Status – The Bible says that in Christ there are no slaves or free or Greeks or Barbarians but we are all one in Christ. However, too many churches aren’t willing to reach people outside of their racial, economic, or social status.

Cleanliness – Some churches aren’t willing to do the heavy lifting required, they’re not willing to roll up their sleeves and embrace the messes of the world. If we’re not willing to get a little dirty, we’ll never reach the world.

Status Quo – Some churches simply don’t want to change. They’re good. The light bill is paid, the buildings are paid off, there’s enough of a crowd to give the illusion that something is happening. Some churches aren’t willing to embrace the change necessary to reach people.

Are you someone that doesn't like change well you will have to just go with the flow because times are a changin

Religion – Put it all together, some churches put religion above people. They put their rituals, their observances, their routines, their beliefs, their ministry structures ahead of people. They feel like they’re loving God, but they don’t realize that you can’t truly love God if you don’t love people.

Remember it's a relationship not a religion, if you don't have a relationship with Jesus then all the religion in the world is void.

Matthew 28:19"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

God I come to you asking you to make us a loving nation where we won't worry about the Status Quo, We will worry about people having a relationship with you instead of worrying more about religion because we know without you all the religion in the world would be void. God if there are some who want to be in control remind them that you are the One in control and I want to think you for being in total control of my life. God if someone looks down on someone that may come into the Church building remind them that we are all alike in your eyes. God I want to think you for the changes that need to be made to reach the next generation. Now please keep watch over my facebook family and friends and know that I love you. I ask these things in Jesus Name Amen.
